Came at 6pm before seeing The Seagull at the Barbican as it's close and it was HEAVING on Tuesday evening, don't think with theatre goers just people from work. Obviously very popular with locals . Nice enough place for a drink as long as you don't mind all the stuffed animals on the wall!

Great location but standard overpriced London gastropub. Nothing special to be honest.

Extremely expensive Sunday roast (32 pounds!!!!). And it’s not even that good. Good service and good atmosphere. But food not worth the money. Also not vegetarian friendly

Pretty solid. Gets a bit busy / lively on Thursday nights from the after-work crowd. Slightly restrictive licence which limits some outdoor drinking - bit tricky when the inside is a bit full / loud

We had a lunch here and the place is really nice, characteristic and the staff is really polite and friendly. I had a good steak, cooked as I asked (medium-well) and tasty. It was a real pleasure to stop by in this pub/restaurant during out visit to the City of London.

The beef that came with the sunday roast was catastrophic as it was chewy and sinewy.

A pub with an attached restaurant that specialises in game. There's a good atmosphere and it's popular, but it is very expensive, or at least the wines were when I last visited (nothing under £10 for a 175ml glass). The wine was nice, so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Stupidly overpriced and food was typical nothing-special-but-thinks-it-is pub fare. Waiter was out to lunch. Difficulty ordering a la carte. Then dessert was forgotten, then didn’t arrive in time for us to make it our show. No help on the check to do something nice for the customer to help make up for the mistakes. Not appreciated.

One of the best roast dinners in all of London. Highly recommend!

A traditional pub in Victoria/Pimlico, with tremendous food (get the fish and chips and also the sticky toffee pudding), chill atmosphere, great beer selection, and a bunch of great guys behind the bar.

An almost perfect evening for recounting war stories of life in City law.
Only hiccup: the chap from Leeds, frugal to the core, attempted that tried and tested trick of ordering a starter for a main. He was suitably chastised and charmed into ordering the most expensive Ribera del Duero on the menu (a princely £78). That’ll teach the Yorkshire Building Society to pinch pennies.

Nice pub. Had a few pints in here with the lads while visiting London. Service is good, not to busy and they have a restaurant in the back. Toilets were clean, prices were reasonable.

We had a light pre-cinema dinner. It looks like an attractive pub, but if you have a look through the pass into the kitchen, this operation is really a full scale restaurant that happens to be well stocked with wines by the glass and beer and cider on tap.
Service is attentive and the staff are knowledgeable about the menu. Our waitress didn't need to run to the kitchen to get answers to our questions. I had the venison tartare, which waitress pointed out was starter and helpfully suggested I order fries to make it a meal.
The venison tartare was made with bone marrow and delicious, served in a bone and garnished with a few waffle chips. The tartare was of the clean and meaty variety moistened with olive oil instead of egg yolk and didn't contain acidic ingredients. Coarse salt was served on the side. Accompanying toast was thinly sliced sourdough, with grill marks and a drizzle of good olive oil. The waitress was right to advise me to order a side of regular chips, which were cut very fat and served with homemade mayo and store bought ketchup.
My companion had the vegetarian celeriac risotto which turned out to be spelt instead of rice. The grain was specified on the menu but we hadn't noticed. It was buttery and rich with a nice chewy texture.
We'll be back next time we have an event at the Barbican. The menu style is meaty with an emphasis on nose to tail ingredients and game. They do offer a vegetarian main, but any vegetarian will have to tolerate the meaty smells emanating from the kitchen. At the time of our visit there a couple of tempting seafood options.
A light dinner with a glass of wine and half pint of cider came to £58.

My husband and I got married at The Jugged Hare in December, and I cannot speak highly enough about the experience. The staff went above and beyond to create a day that felt truly special—they were phenomenal in every way. The food was absolutely exceptional; it’s one of the rare weddings where guests are still raving about the meal long after the day has passed. And let me not forget to mention their espresso martinis—they are genuinely the best I’ve ever had. If you’re considering The Jugged Hare for your wedding, I couldn’t recommend them more. They made our day unforgettable!
